Storage<\/strong> – Sum of raw + various encrypted files (desktop, android, IOS have different encrypted files) + multiple quality files is accounted for total storage.<\/p>\n

Thus, total storage can go anywhere from 2-5 times of what you upload. On average for most of our customers, total storage is about 3-4 times of the raw file sizes. You can check the total accounted storage for any file uploaded in the dashboard.

Bandwidth –<\/strong><\/p>\n

We will explain by example.<\/p>\n

-Suppose, there is a 1 hour of lecture video with 400 MB in size.
\n-If it is watched by 1 user fully, it will consume 1*400 MB – 400 MB of bandwidth.
\n-If it is watched by 100 users fully, it will consume 100*400 MB – 40 GB of bandwidth.
\n-If it is watched by 20 users , 10 times by each users, it will consume 20*10*400 MB – 80 GB of bandwidth.
\nThus, bandwidth increases proportionally to number of viewers and how many times they watch it.<\/p>\n

-If your file size is higher than 700 MB\/hour of video, then we will reduce the size keeping the quality still high for lecture content. For movie content, we go generally maximum up to 1 GB for 1 hour of content. Below are average estimates.<\/p>\n

400 to 600 MB for 1 hour is a good estimate for 1 hour of lecture content in HD.
\n250 MB for 1 hour is a good estimate for 1 hour of lecture content in Good\/Medium quality.<\/p>\n

1.2 to 1.6 GB for 1 hour is good estimate for 1 hour of movie content in HD 1080p.
\n600 MB for 1 hour is good estimate for 1 hour of movie content in Medium quality.<\/p>\n

Why do we charge on the basis of storage & bandwidth?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We charge on basis of storage & bandwidth because we also pay to Amazon AWS servers on basis of Storage, Transcoding & CDN for bandwidth. We also pay for other services on AWS to have our player and analytics up. We also pay considerable licensing fees to Google for Widevine DRM integration. Thus, our pricing involves all the infrastructure + security costs we have to incur.<\/p>\n
